While experimenting with foam from old mattresses, we created a Fluffy Vase. We experimented with the material by gluing, folding, cutting, coating, sewing, coloring and so. What particularly fascinated us about the foam material was its ability to be deformed. We wanted to utilise this advantage for our vase and make it visible in the design. The cord on the side allows Butterfly to be tightened and bend into the desired position. This allows the owner to interact with the object and create its own shape. The created movement resembles the behaviour of a caterpillar and is therefore coloured in a gradient of green. The orange cord is in contrast to the green body of the vase and indicates the possibility of interaction. And when the vase has found enough flowers, it may eventually become a butterfly.
